Accelerationism, even in name, carries connotations that shackle it to conventions of apocalypse-making benefitting only the libidinally self-negating ideologies. The certainty of endings are a (too) deeply understood crisis of meaning inherent to mortal sapience. We innately understand the impossiblity of infinite acceleration, leaving only the conclusion that without the intent to stop, the stop is enacted on us - greater and greater potentialities of ultimate violence accumulate until sudden annihilation. Accelerationists of the modern variety have two coping mechanisms for this - denial in the form of the pursuit of immortality "I will never end." and acceptance "I wish to end."

These connotations are a product of the original critique of Accelerationism's namer - Benjamin Noys. His understanding that 'if capitalism generates its own forces of dissolution then the necessity is to radicalise capitalism itself: the worse the better'¹ was an underpinning for the accelerationist tendencies he criticised, that later diverged into multiple forms. The viral, many-flavored ubiquity of the CCRU's /acc signifier implies that accelerationism, far from being an ideology itself, is a descriptive understanding of how to enact ideology. This is ironically reinforced by Nick Land's raw antihumanist ('Nothing human makes it out of the near-future.')² acceleration project requiring its own redoubled signifier - u/acc (for 'Unconditional Accelerationism') and his insistence that "Capital, in its ultimate self-definition, is nothing beside the abstract accelerative social factor".³ Land would (and has) disagreed that there even is a leftist acceleration to pursue - all transformative function is instantaneously metabolised by an eldrofuturic Capital that always existed to bring itself into existence.⁴ It is ironic, and in my mind self-soothing deception, that though accelerationism is one all-encompassing inevitable consumer, it bears distinguishing from its other forms by Land.

The Flaws in Accelerationism

The viability dialogue surrounding this form of unconditional (ultimately serving right-wing) accelerationism has, to my mind, been so conclusively closed by Mark Fisher as to make anything other than reproducing his response wholesale wasteful of its timelessness.

While Land’s cybergothic remix of Deleuze and Guattari is in so many respects superior to the original, his deviation from their understanding of capitalism is fatal. Land collapses capitalism into what Deleuze and Guattari call schizophrenia, thus losing their most crucial insight into the way that capitalism operates via simultaneous processes of deterritorialization and compensatory reterritorialization. Capital’s human face is not something that it can eventually set aside, an optional component or sheath-cocoon with which it can ultimately dispense. The abstract processes of decoding that capitalism sets off must be contained by improvised archaisms, lest capitalism cease being capitalism. Similarly, markets may or may not be the self-organising meshworks described by Fernand Braudel and Manuel DeLanda, but what is certain is that capitalism, dominated by quasi-monopolies such as Microsoft and Wal-Mart, is an anti-market. Bill Gates promises business at the speed of thought, but what capitalism delivers is thought at the speed of business. A simulation of innovation and newness that cloaks inertia and stasis...

Capitalism has abandoned the future because it can’t deliver it. Nevertheless, the contemporary left’s tendencies towards Canutism, its rhetoric of resistance and obstruction, collude with capital’s anti/meta-narrative that it is the only story left standing. Time to leave behind the logics of failed revolts, and to think ahead again.⁵

To further the point, the abandonment of the initial virtues of capitalism-as-progression-from-feudalism pivots us towards a misunderstanding of systems that could be transformed into viable oppositional platforms. Conversely, the abandonment of a value set existing outside of Capital⁶ (or rather a deific belief construction assuming its capacity for universal consumption) pivoted u(right)/accelerationists towards a misunderstanding of systems that can't or shouldn't be subsumed. Either all is consumable by Capital, and Capital is not worth saving, so nothing is worth saving - or all is consumable by Capital, and Capital is the end goal, so all must be consumed. I am dissatisfied with the reductionism in either appeal. The implicated teleoplexic⁷ view that there is an objective frame/goal to be accelerated into from these competing complexities is a hyperrationalist assertion incompatible with the arbitraity of evolutionary happenstance and the inherent inability (even and especially in the accelerationist frame) to reverse course from a bad turn and plough down an alternate branch. Not all evolutionary branches lead to collapse, nor acceleration, nor even radical change.

Phylogenetic Inertia and Chirality

When observing evolving, dynamic systems, nature serves as a helpful system of analogy, and the convergent evolution of the cephalopod and vertebrate visual systems offer an enlightening example.

Despite converging on similar structures, the vulnerabilities in the vertebrate design (a blind spot, due to a developmental fluke locking in the orientation of the retina, is created by the positioning of the optic nerve, as opposed to it being covered by receptors in the cephalopod) are irreversible - the memory of phylogenetic inertias⁸ dampening future developmental potentials. Even so, in service of their goals the utilitous structure nonetheless formed, ancient mishaps and all. There is a potentiality for a successful structure even inclusive of the inertial baggage of irreversible historical failures. Reality has room for error.

A lower-order example of this is the fundamental 'right-handedness' of terrestrial life - all life is foundationally entrenched in 'one-handedness', essentially one of two mirror forms that could exist. This handedness (known as chirality) defines all future chiralities of any descendant, outcompeting the alternative. Any partial reversal is instantly lethal to the construct, preventing incremental systems of change. Yet were we to skip these initial incompatible intermediates and create the mirror-bacterium/Chiral-Microbe, it could devastate the existing monopoly on life of the established form. It would be so incompatible with the existing dominant structure as to essentially operate invisibly to any developed mechanisms of targeting, attack and destruction. They are resistant to consumption, unable to be eaten by predators nor broken down by conventional enzymes, antibiotics and immune responses. A profligate, unstoppable weed unrecognisable to any herbivore as food.

The Chiral-Microbe can no more metabolize life that it can be metabolized, but it can outcompete indirectly - feeding on non-living materials, extracting energy from different chemistries and gradually expanding into underexplored metabolic domains. The building blocks of life, like water, are symmetrical (achiral) and can be outcompeted for by chiral-life. Its incompatibility to any other life means a Chiral-Ecosystem can benefit from the accumulation of its own dead biomass, resistant to encroachment from other systems. Once a niche is found, a ratcheting effect ensues - the biofilm spreads and cannot be pushed back by the existing system. Any ground gained by this expanding mirror-culture cannot be regained.

The Chiral-Microbe is functionally invincible in the context of this pre-established system. This is a real biocrisis, prompting genuine fear from reputable biologists as recently as last year⁹ begging us not to create alt-life. It is quite unfortunate then that the sociocultural technocracy was sufficiently unaware and underdeveloped enough to allow this to have occurred within the modern age of politics, with the creation of the alt-right.

Alt-Life and the Alt-Right

The collapse of neoliberal incumbents post-Covid leave Liberals desperately grasping for a narrative depicting their crisis as a temporary disruption in hegemony before a return to their unaware decay/acc praxis. Thought-terminating cliches like "It's just Inflation" have developed to serve this copiate addiction, despite incompatibility with their own facts of reality, such as the accelerating gap between genders that ostensibly hold similar relations to rising prices, and the (to a liberal) unexplainable survival of incumbents in Denmark/Hungary despite rapid inflation. The reality is that while Covid was responsible, it was only as a rapid accelerant to the trend of normie psychonsumption,¹⁰ 'The Shadow Realm ate everyone.'¹¹ A parallel mirror-reality ecosystem developed for decades on digital islands before being overwhelmingly colonised by normies desperate for disassociation from their temporary apocalypse. Right-handed lifeforms encountered left-handed memetic viruses, in parody of European settlers to Africa dying in droves to Malaria, lacking the childhood exposure and sickle-cell genetic adaptations necessary for resiliency. The normies entered a psychic arms race with stone-age tools and were overwhelmed in months.

By virtue of our displacement and drowning out by the normies, this is much less discussed now than when it was occurring. The normies are blind to the ecosystem they colonised, they are genuinely unaware of our incompatibilities and awarenesses. The Pre20 internet denizen and Post20 coloniser are, in effect, different digital species (perhaps the first genuine psychospeciation event) - and only one is aware of the other. We have here our mirror-life, invaded by an ecosystem it is in essence invincible and invisible to. The consistent inability for the liberal hegemonic structure to interface with, regard and attack the genuine underlying sociocultural structure of the malignant alt-life currently outcompeting it for psychosubstrate is a function of this political chirality. They are not formed of the same substance, liberalism has been accelerated towards an evolutionary dead-end by the phylogenetic inertia of rationality. By contrast, sociocultural structures built in raw cyberspace incorporated subjectivity as substrate, eliminating these same blindspots.

The Cybernetic Cephalapod vs The Rationalist Vertebrate.

Coated in immunoprivileged memetic masking, alt-life recognised unattended-to substrates of resources, indigestible to liberalism, that it could begin to feed on with impunity. The isolating generational patriarchy-privileged men (and the corpowomen emulating them) succumbing to confusion and loneliness. The conflicted embrace of femininity - leading simultaneously to rejections of pornographic capital participation to instead serve it with invisible labour, or rejections of invisible labour in the pursuit of serving capital with pornography. The white-knuckle grip on white supremacy as the last status-defence of temporary middle class structures - a genuine anomaly of post-WW2 violent wealth redistribution, now in catastrophic decline due to inequality.

The Chiral-Politik can no more metabolize Liberalism than it can be metabolized, but it can outcompete indirectly. Vast psychosubstrates ready to consume in redpill/tradwife/alt-right ecosystems, always led by Pre20 mirror-life or its emulators. A Feeding Frenzy prompting a Cambrian explosion of psychic predators: Cryptoscams, Algorithmic Infoparasites, AI-Slopmongers, Eldrofuturic Technocultists, Temporally-Agnostic Cultureharvesters - consuming interpretive labor by capturing undefended cognition. These feast on achiral waste products of Liberalism that cannot be utilised by the primary system, beginning first as a parasitic force before demanding resources in such great quantities that it must induce their creation. It is at this point that the teleoplexic dynamic breaks down, as Capital interfaces with its first real predator and attempts to metabolise it.

Looking to the economic bombing campaign on neoliberal globalism by the alt-politik Executive, we see strange phenomena again unexplainable to liberal psychostructures - 79% of Americans say Trumps policies are making them worse-off or not impacting them financially, yet 44% approve of his handling of the economy.¹² Of course this is seen as a win by some, a few digit points shifting in a positive direction worthy of victory laps and "I told you so"s from liberal spitepundits. To others, a demonstration of the distinct disconnection of alt-politik shadow realm residents from hegemonic reality structures. The Neoliberal order was able to dampen, for now, the right/acc attempt to progress to a globofeudalist order¹³ by an economic show of force - preventing what appears to be a necessary decomplexifying of the global order to reaccelerate through the resistance of increasingly relationship-tangled structures. This was a partial and hollow victory, dynamics have been set in motion that cannot be reset. We have passed another phylogenetic branch we cannot return through.

Perhaps the greatest failure of this strategy was its attempted translation back into liberalism - talk of tariffs, currency manipulation and mathematical analysis implied a liberal foundational framework that never existed. If this process was rationalist, why tariff the penguins? Why these numbers? Why this country? You do not need to meticulously calculate the force generated by a baseball bat on a shopkeeper you coerce into protection payments. Doing so implies it should have been done, and thus should have been done correctly. The most effective forms of Trumpism are those that do not interface with liberalism, that completely sidestep and redirect it. Deplorables turning into a toxifying innoculation against liberal values and moral virtue becoming a hurdle to bypass in order to communicate. Trump is becoming more effective and destructive to the systems he resides in, but perhaps due to overexposure, also too covered in muck recognisable to the ecosystem as a digestible foreign entity.

We should not make the same mistakes.

Leftist Mirror-Life

To bring us back around to the top, accelerationism is in (typical) crisis, and has been thoroughly ceded to the right wing. Good. It is a term and structure that labels itself as self-destructive, and only appeals to the apocalpse-bringers. The original leftist thought falsely reified into this death cult were accelerations of transformation, rather than destruction. Repurposing structures and bringing them to their final conclusions in service of humanity rather than capital. Multi-layered reformations through hyperstitioning mirror-forms of the hyperstructures.

Hypereformism.

Where reformism is restricted by phylogenetic inertia, hypereformism pursues outcomes via reformatting and repurposing dampening evolutionary failures into successes. For the rationalist, the human blindspot is a failure, for the hypereformist it is the catalyst by which seamless perceptual fill-in was created - an evolutionary pressure towards an exceptional and beneficial hallucination. It pressured the reliance on binocular overlap, improving the redundancy of our optical system as well as the subtle vibrating microsaccades that prompt continuous refreshes of the visual scene (a rationalist would call this inefficiency). The blind spot is, in isolation, an evolutionary disaster, but in consequence generated multiple pressures that demanded innovative solutioning. So too are the failed structures of Capital to be repurposed for grand designs. Absolutely radical transformation within the existing frame, liquefaction of internal connective structures without a loss of the substance. Caterpillar to Butterfly.

This is conducive to the incorporation of opposing and overlapping frames, cross-sections of meaning 3D printed into a container for all substance. The frames are aestheticized value-sets, ultimately competing for the same purpose through different realities but with shared axioms. Hypereformism is itself a Hyperform of, simultaneously, Hyper Reformism, Hype Reformism and Hyper E-formism, each serving a function inseparable from the whole.

Hyper Reformism demands momentum generation, antibureaucracy, antistagnation and assaults on complexification to enable continuous progression without an endstate. Phylogenetic inertia is inevitable and should be utilised as redundancy. Local minima must be bypassed and incorporated, there is no need for hyperefficiency because civilisation should not be viewed as runway. We each have limited time and must do as much in as many different directions as possible within it. Continuous cycles of self-actualisation followed by deterritorialisation, and on to the next thing. Live many lives.

Hype Reformism demands spectacle, virality, ferality and absolute evolutionary superiority over the memetic psychospace. Signal as separate from substance, fuel for the fire. Today socioculture lags atrophied behind technocapital, cannibalizing itself, annihilating its own futures, languidly decellerant. It must move ahead of change, be pursued doggedly by it, and thus must be powered by its own cycle of hype and psychonsumption, fuelling innovation.

Hyper E-formism demands the formation of E-structures, hyperdigitilisation, the digital bill of rights, the democratisation of knowledge and the leveraging of technology to facilitate it. The return of identity to the public domain, the free marketplace of memetic entities competing for social space rather than survival. Paperless Citizenship as frontend UX of governance.¹⁴ Reduce friction to increase speed in all directions across all branches. Prompt innovation by derisking survival for the many. Never again bury an Einstein who lived a life toiling in the fields. The leftist descendant of cyberaccelerationism as productivity engine and labor liberation.

Hyperformism demands the metaconsumption of all other frames, the competitor to Capitalist Realism, the acceptance of subjectivity as freedom from oppressive reality-frames. All frames hold unique truths, a pair of spectacles that only show the red-light-spectrum still reveal previously indecipherable patterns of poppies in the multi-colored meadows. We cannot return to a single frame, nor should we, lest we return to a tyranny of those who define it. The Shadow Realm ate everybody, we should eat the Shadow Realm. Do not acquiesce to liberal demands for structure, sanity and devotion to reality. As you are mirror-life to them, they are mirror-life to you. You are less compatible with liberals than antiliberals. They do not operate in the antiliberal ecosystem in the way you can. You are a Mirror-Guerilla Fighter.

We own ideological systems unintepretable to liberals and inaccessible to the right-wing mythmakers. They fetishise ruin - Disaster is accidental/invisible or necessarily self-induced. Neither are true.

Hyperstition future-feelings into the hollowed out group consciousness - the technopriests have successfully injected eldrofuturic numinosity into the present tense. It is possible to reinject a morality frame into these future visions. Indeed the existence of a futuric-sense demonstrates the remaining (though dwindling) capacity for injecting future-feeling into a capitalist realist system.

Feed on the same substrates as the alt-right, outcompete them for psychonsumption by serving the unmetabolised needs of the normies being predated upon. Their comfort content programs them, it can reprogram them. Generate normative interface layers and use it to smuggle in understanding.

Subvert digital spaces into non-capitalist psychoframes. Engage parasitically with hegemonic digital structures as mirror-life, outcompete them for space by accepting the same inputs and offering radically alternative outputs. Format community spaces experimentally, do not copy paste principles or hierarchies across domains. Experimentation is inefficiency is redundancy is resiliency to system capture.

The Right Wing is defined by revanchism, decline, negative space. It hollows itself out by design. The mechanisms they reside in punish divergence. They are always invading and always in decline because by boundarying they limit their living space. It can only annihilate it cannot truly build. The Hypereformist seeks to leverage their power to break through boundaries, then shores up the defences from the inside. They are an entry vector.

Some are doing this already.¹⁵

Conclusions

We have in our civilisational possession, an array of systems that demand a reformatting rather than destruction. Amazon is a technofeudalist logistics miracle, Walmart a perfect mirror of stalinist centrally planned state monopoly, Twitter is a digital commons, Google is a global library of text and video, OpenAI a digital productivity engine, Steam is a gallery of interactive art, Apple is a personal cybernetics distributor. An emergent form of Liberal now points to these successes as proof of the value of Capital Abundance.

FUCK Abundance.

Overproduction until the waste sloughs off in sufficient quantitites to appease the poverty-stricken is still antihuman accelerationism. Optimism borne of Optimisation is just Optics. The same structure in a different slathering of technofuturist aesthetic. A sanctimonous altar of sacrificial surplus to gods of metric.

Constraint need not be Confining. Redundancy need not be Inefficiency. Fulfilment need not be Frictionless. Mistake need not be Curse.

The constraints of these superstructures are here now, all subverted and co-opted into self-destructive and cruel systems of coercion. Perhaps they were only possible thanks to capitalism, perhaps they are phylogenetic inertial traps to overcome, perhaps they are burdens to calcify around and turn to pearls we'd have been better off without.

It is more important to change the world than to interpret it.¹⁶

We have invested unfathomable resources in them, and they shall be reformatted to serve us. Invade them as mirror-life, remain invisible to the ecosystem, observe how the left-handed right-wing bested the right-handed liberals and replicate their strategies in the pursuit of humanism. Reformat them into systems of experimental pursuit, progression space and community contribution. Convert profit margin 1:1 into productivity margin, valuing time over money.

Time to leave behind the logics of failed revolts, and to think ahead again.⁵
